DENTAL CARE IN ELKRIDGE, MD

Airway growth development

Craniofacial development is key for nasal breathing which is key for essential for overall health. The nose is designed to filter, warm, and humidify the air we breathe, and also produces nitric oxide,  which has important anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties. When we breathe through our mouth, we bypass all of these important functions and can cause harm to our bodies, and interfere with proper growth.  Dr. Jones-Laper looks at all malocclusions (bad bite) in the mouth for proper growth. She also evaluates tongue and lip ties. Proper tongue position refers to myofunctional therapy and growth guidance.
